FastDL, ServerDL & WorkshopDL

In source games, you have three types of download platform.

ServerDL:
ServerDL is the most standard and slow method.
It is capped and uses no compression; this is fine for a few small files.

FastDL:
FastDL will allow you to setup the server to use a webserver as the download location.
FastDL uses compression on a standard HTTP speed - so this is much faster than ServerDL.
This method is the most difficult to setup and is advised for large downloads.

*WorkshopDL:
WorkshopDL is the youngest of the three methods, using a better compression than FastDL.
It uses Valves Content Delivery Network to deliver the downloads at a similar speed to which you get from subscribing to addons on the workshop.

Note: Methods marked with a star might not work in older games.
